In May of 2013 I was hired as a barista at Starbucks. On my first day, we tasted our Kenya coffee. My trainer turned to me and asked, "What does this smell like to you?" Mortified, all I could think to utter was, "Coffee?"

Through many coffee tastings, pairings, and listening to others I developed my palate, sense of smell, and a vocabulary. But perhaps most surprising of all was developing a love of coffee so intense that I dedicated years to learning more. My life changed because of coffee; one cup at a time.

Now I am a barista and coffee roaster for a local company called Chromatic Coffee. I set up this blog in hopes of educating others while trying new things. I strive to excite people about coffee through sharing my passion. The world of specialty coffee is exciting and ever changing, so join me on this journey.
